Arabic For Law Enforcement

 

Arabic pronunciation of hundreds of words, questions and phrases used daily by law enforcement and military personnel in their professional encounter with Arabic-speaking individuals. Also answers basic questions regarding Middle Eastern customs and the fundamentals of Islam.

Ballistic Shield

 

This course is designed to provide officers with the skills necessary to properly and effectively employ a ballistic shield during high risk operations. The modern ballistic shield can be an extremely effective tool, if it’s in the right hands.

Upon completion of this course officers will:

– Understand the ballistic capabilities of the shield

– The advantages and disadvantages of its employment

– Basic and advanced carry positions to include building clearing and downed officer rescues

– How to utilize your pistol effectively while carrying the shield

Basic Handcuffing

 

Handcuffs are the most often used tool used by officers, yet training is often overlooked or not addressed. Studies indicate that a great number of individuals resist arrest/detention. All too often the result is injury to the officer or the subject. This course focuses on subject control, handcuffing and searching. Also addressed is equipment placement and familiarity.

This course is focused from an officer’s point of view and addresses the training need in defensive tactics. Topics include nomenclature, guidelines, handcuffing the resistive, non-resistive and aggressive subject, handcuffing from the standing, kneeling and prone positions, removing handcuffs and the use of contact/cover officers.

The benefits to this training program are a reduction in officer/subject injury, reduced exposure to civil/criminal liability, reduced workers compensation claims and an increase in officer safety.

Cell Extraction

 

This 5-day (40 hours) agency instructor level certification program was designed for agencies to train and certify departmental instructors in Cell Extraction and Control Systems for corrections. This course was designed to enhance the instructor’s development in the use and training of control tactics for single and multiple officer control tactics using anatomically correct techniques, and to protect departments from costly litigation issues that could arise from the use of physical force during an encounter. This course fully addresses all aspects of physical restraints, and introduces the “Pad Subduing Techniques and Tactics.” Instruction is based on realistic use and applications of control methods in the use of force situations.

This training covers general procedures on conducting a cell search. Includes when and how to conduct the search, how to contraband is defined and what to do if it is found, and the significance of being consistent and professional throughout the search.

Contraband

Many inmates have plenty of time to come up with a design to create contraband(s) from their toothbrush,
toothpaste, paper, sporks, clothes, etc.

Control Tactics

 

Control Tactics training is a comprehensive control tactics course designed to promote safe and efficacious use of control level force.

Within this class the participant learns the components of Control Tactics application, instruction and testing.  The participant also identifies situations that allow for the application of reasonable physical force.

Emphasis is placed on proper psychomotor skills involved in Control Level force employment, proper means of instruction and, and theoretical background to analyze and develop agency specific programs which serves as a basis for subsequent physical force tactics classes.

CPR/First Aid & AED Training

Black Tiger Tactical First Aid with CPR/AED trains participants to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in adults and provides the knowledge and skills needed to care for injury or sudden illness until professional medical help arrives.

Training complements adult learning styles with hands-on practice and real-life scenarios while take-away materials serve as excellent refresher tools after training is complete. This comprehensive course meets training guidelines for first aid programs established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.                              

Topics covered include:

  • Recognizing and respond to an emergency.
  • How to care for a person who is choking.
  • Checking an unconscious person for life-threatening and nonlife-threatening conditions.
  • Recognizing and caring for a person who is not breathing.
  • How to care for a heart attack and how to give CPR.
  • Using and AED and identifying precautions when using and AED.
  • Identifying the signs and symptoms of sudden illness, including stroke, diabetic emergency, poisoning and allergic reactions and care for them.

Defensive Tactics

This course incorporates training in the use of bodily impact tools (such as hands, elbows and knees), and knife defense.

This Training also focuses on the use of Impact-Resistant-Suits to increase safety and the quality of this level of physical force instruction.

Also future training in the areas of Firearms Retention, Ground Tactics rely heavily on principles and techniques learned in the Defensive Tactics course.

Defensive Tactics training is designed to promote effective and efficient use of bodily impact weapons. The participant learns the components of Defensive Tactics instruction and application, including the situations that allow for the application of this higher level of physical force, proper psychomotor skills involved in Level 2 force application, proper means of instruction and testing, and theoretical background to analyze other similar programs in order to develop agency specific programs.

Additionally, the Participant will understand the physiology of a confrontation, be aware of the probable medical implications associated with these technique, biomechanical principles of Impact Impedance tactics and how they relate to instruction and systems analysis.

Impact Weapon Course is designed to promote safe and efficacious use of the baton and other similar impact
weapons. The participant will learn and understand the situations that allow for the use of the various types of
batons, the components of impact weapon use including psychomotor skills involved in impact weapon application,
proper means of instruction and testing, and theoretical background to analyze other impact weapon programs in
order to develop agency specific programs. Additionally, the Participant will be aware of the probable medical

Edge Weapon & Knife Defense

 

The knife is a very unique weapon. The goal is always self-defense but within this you must also enhance your timing, reflexes, hand-eye coordination, and body movement.

Students are taught angles of attack, striking patterns, the do’s and don’ts of holding a knife, various blocking, redirecting, faking, and set-up concepts.

Students also learn how significant a knife is in a self-defense situation and how it can equalize a situation when need be. To cover all angles, knife techniques are taught standing and on the ground. This training also enhances your empty hand skills.

Ground Tactics

p>Covers the specifics of Ground Tacticswinning an assault of the officer on the ground. Due to the danger and risks associated
with this type of attack, the training will focus on all levels of force available to the officer, up to and
including deadly force. This course is a prerequisite to the Firearms Retention course.

Ground Survival Tactics Course is designed to develop skills for a “grounded” assault on the officer. Within
this class the Participant will learn and understand the principles of Ground Survival Tactics, targeting principles,
proper psychomotor skills involved in their employment, and how the various components of Level Two and Three
Tactics are applied to these serious and potentially life threatening situations. The Participant will understand
the guidelines that allow for the use of this level of force, proper means of instruction and testing and
theoretical background to analyze other similar programs in order to develop agency specific Ground Tactics with a knifeprograms.

Prison Rape Eliminations Act (PREA)

 

The purpose of this training is to support the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 (PREA, P.L. 108-79) that was enacted by Congress to address the problem of sexual abuse of persons in the custody of U.S. correctional agencies.

Major provisions of PREA include:

  • Development of standards for detection, prevention, reduction, and punishment of prison rape;
  • Collection and dissemination of information on the incidence of prison rape; and
  • Award of grant funds to help state and local governments implement the purposes of the Act.

The Act applies to all public and private institutions that house adult or juvenile offenders and is also relevant to community-based agencies.

Tactical Pistol I

 

This course will emphasize the basics of pistol shooting and quickly progress into providing the shooter with a solid foundation for weapons manipulation.

This course is designed to solidify the basics and streamline performance.  Though a level I course, this course will challenge every shooter.

Tactical Pistol II

Tactical Pistol II quickly covers some of the basics taught in Tactical Pistol I and then progresses into a higher operational tempo where officers/soldiers will learn proven CQB techniques to increase target recognition, the balance of speed vs. accuracy, multiple ‘combat accurate’ shots on target and shooting on the move.

The Modern 1911

The 1911 platform has reached 100 years of distinguished service and is still considered by many as one of the most effective firearms on the block.  It is still widely used by competitors, concealed carry civilians, Law Enforcement and some of the special units within the Military.  Learn to appreciate and use the 1911 style pistol by learning the history of what many consider to be one of John Browning’s greatest accomplishments. Topics covered during this course will include: history, field stripping, parts replacement, common accessories, day to day maintenance and storage. We will then hit the range where you will learn how to effectively use this tool in any situation from the home to competition to the street.

Weapon Retention

Makes use of concepts, tactics and training methods from the aforementioned classes. Since an attempt or successful disarming of an officer is such a potentially deadly altercation this course is designed to train the officer to retain their gun in a wide variety of situation as well as immediate recovery of their gun should it be taken.

Firearms Retention/Recovery and Disarming Course.

Within this course the Participant will learn and understand the principles of handgun and long gun defense and disarming, targeting principles, proper psychomotor skills involved in their employment, and how the various components of Level Two and Three Tactics are applied to these serious and potentially life threatening situations. The Participant will understand the guidelines that allow for the use of this level of force, proper means of instruction and testing and theoretical background to analyze other similar programs in order to develop agency specific programs consistent with agency policies.

  • Braced-Contact shooting principles and secondary weapons use
  • Disarm attempts and Use Of Force

This ourse is designed to promote techniques for self-protection that effectively and efficiently deal with aggravated-assault level resistors who are attempting to disarm the officer.

What to Bring:

Bring a fully-equipped duty belt and inert versions of the firearms carried on duty, to include both a pistol and long-gun, a duty version of Airsoft gun.  (Call for recommendations and information on purchasing such equipment)  Tape for wrists; elbow, forearm and knee pads; mouth guards; gloves; and a long-sleeved, light-weight shirt, are also required for participation.  You will also need to bring your department’s impact resistant suit such as FIST or Red Man type gear as well.  A video camera, tape, and power source are highly recommended.
